Strawberries

Few things in life are as indulgent as strawberries, but when you mix them with red wine and please you loved ones it can't be beaten.

This is a combination of recipes inspired by a traditional Strawberry Shortcake. 

It all started with the Strawberries, why not mix them with a Red Wine Reduction seasoned with Chile Coban? Why not tame the spices with some home made Whipped Cream. 

With all these came the idea to use, as in the classic shortcake, a pastry to serve the strawberries. In this case the ideas of using a Sponge Cake came from the Chilean Empolvados. I tried different recipes but finally just added a bit of  baking powder to the classic one to make it more spongy.

Knowing that Monica loved it and that the kids enjoyed the too was the best reward, 

I'm starting to blog about this cooking adventures because later I loose the recipes!!!
