Last week Jose Andres attended an entrepreneurial Project organized by the Heuristica program from UFM School of Business. Heuristica is an entrepreneurial incubator inside the Business School. Among other things they organize an intensive program for Teens. Despite Jose Andres is still just 12 we managed to sign him up.

The 20+ kids shared for five days during presentations from Psychologists, Entrepreneurship experts, Entrepreneurs, Outdoors (Ropes circuits) activities, and free time.
Once the week was over my take-aways were. He expanded his world relating with Teens. The age difference is meaningful and these kids were from different schools, and different backgrounds. Not easy to be honest but an important step in Social Skills. The second one is that it turn into a big Team Building Project. They began disorganized and challenging for facilitators and ended as a nice problem solving, joyful team.
Third he move forward in learning more about himself, about his weaknesses and his interests. An finally he had an opportunity to contrast his environment (Acton Academy, we as parents, and the school community) with the other kids. Many had horror stories from school, and some have overprotective parents controlling their lives.

Next step will be to put more energy in practice. At least during the evenings and this weekend he has shown more signs of responsibility.
